Use Datapacks to Add Stories Without Editing Configs

Datapack Advantages

Datapacks let you add new lore books alongside your world without modifying the mod's config folder. This approach keeps your stories organized separately and makes it easier to share custom content with other players or update stories without affecting base configurations.

Creating Your Datapack Structure

Set up a datapack with the proper folder hierarchy to store book JSON files. The mod recognizes datapacks placed in your world's datapacks folder and loads them automatically when you start the world or run /rpglore reload.

Writing Datapack Books

Datapack books use the same JSON format as config books. Define your story content, drop conditions, and metadata exactly as you would in the config folder. The mod treats datapack books identically to config books once loaded.

Reloading and Distributing

After adding or modifying datapack books, run /rpglore reload to load the changes. Datapacks can be shared easily with other players—simply include them in the world folder, making this ideal for multiplayer servers or custom map distributions where you want centralized story management.
