Finding and Identifying Wild Animals by Biome
Biome-Specific Spawns
Different animals spawn in different environments. Learn where to look:
- Forests & Woodlands: Brown bears, deer, and badgers are common. Listen for bear growls and watch for movement among trees.
- Deserts: Coyotes hunt in packs across open plains. They're most active at dusk and dawn.
- Cold Biomes (Taiga, Snowy Plains): Reindeer gather in herds. Look for them in clearings and open snow fields.
- Rivers & Oceans: Piranhas, salty eels, and flying fish populate water. Flying fish leap from the surface, especially in warmer ocean biomes.
- Badlands & Rocky Areas: Badgers forage near ground level; watch for them digging or moving through brush.
Tracking Tips
Move slowly and crouch to avoid startling animals. Most creatures flee from sudden movement. Listen for distinctive sounds—each animal has unique calls and footsteps. Early morning and dusk offer the best viewing opportunities. Use binoculars or zoom mods to spot distant herds before approaching. Animals often gather near water sources, so check rivers and lakes first when exploring a new biome.
