Troubleshoot Shader Crashes or Visual Glitches
Identify the Problem
If the game crashes when applying a shader, or if you see visual artifacts (flickering, missing textures, strange colors), the shader may conflict with your device or other settings.
Clear and Restart
Return to Settings > Graphics > Shader and select None to disable all shaders. Restart your game completely. Then re-enable the shader one at a time to isolate which preset causes issues.
Check Compatibility
Verify you're running Minecraft Bedrock 1.26 or later. Older versions won't support these shaders. If your device is very old or has limited RAM, some presets may be incompatible—try the lightest option in the collection first.
Disable Conflicting Features
Turn off any custom resource packs temporarily. Some packs interfere with shader rendering. Also disable ray tracing if your device supports it, as it can conflict with shader lighting.
Reduce Render Distance
Lower your render distance in world settings. This reduces the workload on your GPU and often resolves crashes or stuttering caused by shaders.
