Optimize Shader Performance on Low-End Devices
Identify Performance Bottlenecks
Load a shader and observe your frame rate in a demanding area—near water, under trees, or during sunset. If frames drop below your target, the shader needs adjustment.
Reduce Shader Intensity
Go to Settings > Graphics > Shader and look for quality or performance tiers if available. Some presets in this collection offer "lite" or "performance" variants. Select the lighter version of your preferred shader.
Disable Heavy Features
Within shader settings, disable or lower:
- Shadow distance (reduces the area casting shadows)
- Water reflections (switch to simpler water rendering)
- Ambient occlusion (darkening in crevices)
- Particle effects (rain, dust, mist)
Test and Adjust
After each change, spend a few minutes in-game to confirm stability. Walk through different biomes and times of day. If performance is still poor, try a different preset from the collection—some are inherently lighter than others while still providing noticeable visual improvements.
