Switch to Behind View While Moving

Using the Backview Keybind

The Backview keybind lets you look behind your player instantly without cycling through F5 views. By default, this is bound to a specific key, but you can customize it in your controls settings.

Hold vs. Press Mode

You can configure whether the behind view activates by:

  • Holding the key (view returns to normal when released)
  • Pressing the key once (view toggles on/off with each press)

Choose your preference in the mod's configuration options. Holding is useful for quick glances while moving, while toggling works better for sustained rear observation.

In Practice

While walking forward, press or hold your Backview keybind. Your camera will rotate to show what's behind you. This is faster than pressing F5 multiple times to cycle through first-person, third-person front, and third-person back views.

You can move normally while in behind view—your character continues forward even though you're looking backward. This is especially useful for:

  • Checking if mobs are chasing you
  • Monitoring teammates in multiplayer
  • Navigating while keeping an eye on your path behind
