Adjust Shader Quality Settings for Your PC
Access Shader Options
Open the Shader Options menu from your Video Settings. Look for the BCU Shades Shaders profile in your active shader list and click the settings icon to open the configuration panel.
Key Settings to Tune
Shadow Quality: Lower shadow resolution if you're experiencing frame drops. Reducing shadow distance will also improve performance on older systems.
Ambient Occlusion: Disable or reduce this effect if framerates dip below your target. It adds depth to corners and crevices but is performance-intensive.
Reflection Quality: Reduce water and reflective surface detail if needed. This shader includes screen-space reflections that scale with your PC's power.
Lighting Intensity: Adjust the brightness of dynamic shadows and ambient lighting to match your preference without affecting performance.
Test and Save
After each change, load into a world with varied terrain—mountains, caves, and water—to see the visual impact. Once you find settings that balance visuals and framerate, your configuration saves automatically.
