Getting Started with Baritone

Using Baritone for Travel and Mining

Baritone is an automated pathfinding system that plays Minecraft for you through your client. Rather than steering manually, you give it a destination or a task, and its artificial intelligence calculates the route and walks it.

Its pathing works in segments. Baritone calculates a path, and as the current segment nears its end it precalculates the next one, so you keep moving toward the goal without stopping. This is what makes long distance travel practical.

To keep things fast, Baritone simplifies the world into a compact internal representation of a few block categories, such as air, solid, water, and blocks to avoid. These simplified chunks are cached in memory, so the pathfinder can reason about terrain quickly instead of reading every block.

Beyond travel, Baritone can mine ores and other minable blocks, and it can perform Worldedit-style operations by manipulating your client. Give it a goal and let it handle the walking and digging.
