How to Verify the Mod Is Working Correctly

What You Should See

After installing the mod, the most obvious sign it is active is that axolotl buckets no longer all share the pink icon. If every bucket still looks identical, something is preventing the mod from applying its textures.

Quick Checks

1. Catch two different axolotl variants, such as a wild and a cyan axolotl.

2. Compare their bucket icons in your inventory. They should differ.

3. Catch a baby axolotl and confirm its bucket icon differs from an adult of the same variant.

4. If all icons still match, confirm the mod is actually loaded for your current profile and that no resource pack is overriding bucket textures.

5. Try disabling other resource packs temporarily to rule out a conflict.

Remember this is a client-side mod, so it only affects your own view. On a server, other players will still see default textures unless they also have it installed. If the icons update correctly in singleplayer but not on a server, the issue is likely a resource pack or load order rather than the server itself.
