Using the Axiom World Editor (Right Shift) for Landscape Design
Opening the World Editor
Press Right Shift to launch Axiom's full world editor. This is the powerhouse behind the mod and where terrain sculpting, mass editing, and advanced tools live. The editor overlays a set of panels and brushes on your screen. Familiarize yourself with the brush palette first, since most landscape work is done by painting rather than by hand-placing blocks.
Sculpting Terrain
Select a terrain brush and choose the block type you want to paint with. Adjust the brush radius and shape so you can work at the scale you need, from small touch-ups to sweeping hills. Drag across the ground to raise, lower, or smooth terrain. Axiom's brushes respect the surface, so you can add grass, stone, or sand layers that follow the existing contours. For large regions, switch to a selection-based fill instead of brushing so the operation covers the whole area at once.
Mass Block Replacement
One of the editor's strongest features is bulk replacement. Make a selection, then tell Axiom which block to find and which block to substitute. This lets you convert an entire biome's worth of stone into deepslate, or swap every oak plank in a build for spruce, in a single action. Because the replacement is selection-scoped, you stay
in control of exactly how far the change spreads.
Practical Notes
- Work in layers: rough out the shape with a big brush, then refine edges with a smaller one.
- Save your selection before a big replacement in case you want to undo.
- The editor pairs well with the
clipboard tools from the Left Alt menu.
