Locating Structures

Awesome Dungeon Mod structures generate naturally in the world, so the fastest way to find them is to explore new chunks rather than searching near your base. Because the mod adds many different builds (jungle trees, temples, palaces, castles, and more), the biome you travel through strongly influences what you will run into. Swamp and jungle biomes are good for the swamp temple and giant jungle tree, deserts for the desert temple variant, and dark forest or roofed areas for witch and abandoned builds. Use a boat or elytra to cover ground quickly, and keep an eye on the horizon for large silhouettes that do not match vanilla generation.

Looting Safely

Once you spot a structure, do not rush the entrance. Dungeons are built around mob spawners, so approach during the day if possible and light up corridors as you go. Bring a shield, a bow, and blocks to wall off spawner rooms. Clear spawners first, then open chests — loot is the main reward, and chests are usually placed in side rooms or at the end of a path rather than the front door. Mark the coordinates of any structure you cannot fully clear so you can return later with better gear.
