How to Escape From Fast-Chasing Awakened Piglins

Why Running Backward Doesn't Work

Awakened piglins run at player speed, making traditional kiting impossible. If you sprint backward, they'll keep pace and close the gap. You cannot outrun them in a straight line.

Effective Escape Tactics

Instead of running in a straight line, use lateral movement and terrain. Sprint sideways or at angles, forcing them to chase unpredictably. Jump over obstacles—their larger bodies make gaps and low ceilings harder to navigate. Enter buildings or caves where tight spaces limit their mobility.

Water is your friend. Piglins move slower in water than on land, giving you an advantage. Lead them into rivers or flooded areas to create distance safely.

Combat Retreat

If you're forced to fight, don't try to out-damage them. Instead, damage them enough to make them reconsider, then immediately retreat using the tactics above. Repeat this cycle: strike, escape, heal, repeat.

Always have a safe zone planned before engagement—a base, a well-lit area, or high ground. Never fight Awakened piglins in open terrain where they can chase you indefinitely.
