Automatic Tool Swap Mod is a small quality-of-life mod that switches you to the right tool when you start mining, as long as that tool is somewhere in your hotbar. You no longer need to scroll through slots or press number keys before breaking a block — the mod handles the selection for you.

It also works with modded tools, so tools added by other mods are recognized the same way vanilla ones are.

If you would rather keep control, there are two ways to stop the swap. Sneak while breaking a block and the mod leaves your current slot alone. Alternatively, press the toggle key (default G) to turn the automatic switching on or off entirely.

That is the whole mod: automatic selection, modded tool support, and two simple ways to opt out when you want to mine with whatever you are already holding.
