Configure Auto Tools to Use Silk Touch for Specific Blocks
Setting Up Silk Touch Priority
Silk Touch is essential when you want to collect blocks intact rather than their drops. Auto Tools lets you define which blocks should always use a Silk Touch tool.
Steps
1. Locate your mod's configuration folder (usually config/autotools/ or similar in your .minecraft directory)
2. Open or create the silk_touch.json file
3. Add block entries in JSON format. Each entry should specify the block you want to prioritize Silk Touch for
4. Save the file and restart your game or reload configs if the mod supports it
5. Mine the configured blocks—Auto Tools will now automatically equip your Silk Touch tool if available
Tips
- Common blocks to add: ores (diamond, emerald), glass, ice, and grass blocks
- If you don't have a Silk Touch tool in your inventory, Auto Tools will fall back to your best regular tool
- You can add multiple blocks to the same configuration file
- Check your mod's documentation for the exact JSON syntax required for your version
