How to Block and Unblock Item Pickup

Filtering Items with the I Key

The Auto Pickup Filter Mod stops your character from picking up items you do not want. It works with vanilla items and items added by other mods, so you can filter junk like dirt, seeds, or rotten flesh alongside modded drops.

To block an item, open your inventory or an item list such as JEI or REI. Hover your mouse pointer over the item you want to stop collecting, then press the I key. That item is now filtered, and you will no longer pick it up from the ground.

To reverse it, hover over the same item and press I again. The item returns to normal pickup behavior.

There is only one key to remember, and it toggles each item individually. Because filtering works inside JEI and REI, you can set up your list directly from the item lists you already browse, without needing the physical item in hand.
