Troubleshoot Visual Glitches or Unexpected Behavior
Common Issues and Quick Fixes
If you see flickering, banding, or strange colors:
- Restart your game — shaders sometimes need a fresh load to initialize properly
- Check compatibility — ensure your graphics driver is up to date
- Verify shader is active — confirm the shader is selected in your loader's settings, not disabled
- Reset to defaults — if you've tweaked many settings, reset shader options and adjust one at a time
Performance-Related Problems
If the game stutters or freezes:
- Lower shadow resolution and bloom intensity first
- Reduce your render distance by a few chunks
- Close background applications using GPU resources
- Check that your graphics card has enough VRAM available
Visual Quality Issues
If the painted look disappears or looks flat, the shader may not be loading correctly. Reload the shader through your loader menu. If colors look washed out, check your monitor's brightness and contrast settings — shaders can be sensitive to display calibration.
