To see shadow details more clearly:

• Explore caves and underground areas where contrast between lit and shadowed surfaces is highest
• Visit dense forests where tree canopies create natural shadow patterns
• Play during in-game sunset/sunrise for dramatic shadow angles
• Avoid maximum brightness settings, which wash out shadow details

Authentic Shadows enhances existing vanilla shadows rather than creating new ones. The pack is most effective when your world has natural lighting variation. If your game feels too bright overall, lowering brightness slightly will make the improved shadows far more noticeable and immersive.
