Enable Authentic Shadows and Verify They're Working

Activate the Resource Pack

Once installed, you need to load Authentic Shadows into your world or server.

1. Open the Resource Packs menu from the main screen or pause menu

2. Locate Authentic Shadows in the available packs list

3. Click the arrow icon to move it to the Active section on the right

4. Close the menu and return to your world

Check Shadow Quality

Shadows should now appear on all entities and blocks. Look for:

• Darker outlines beneath mobs, animals, and players
• Enhanced contours on block edges and terrain features
• Softer shadow gradients compared to vanilla Minecraft

If shadows don't appear noticeably different, ensure the pack is positioned at the top of your active list (above other packs). Resource pack order matters—Authentic Shadows works best when it has priority.

The effect is subtle at first glance. Spend a few minutes in different lighting conditions (bright daylight, caves, sunset) to appreciate how shadows improve depth perception and visual clarity throughout your world.
