Reduce Lag and Improve Performance
Disable Heavy Features
Aurora Veil Shaders is designed to be lightweight, but you can optimize further. Access your shader settings and look for toggles related to:
- Screen shimmer/bloom effects: Disable the moving brightness shimmer if it impacts frame rate
- Water reflections: Turn off or reduce the teal-to-purple reflection effect on water surfaces
- Cloud animation: Simplify or disable animated cloud tinting
- Fog effects: Disable underwater and lava fog color changes if needed
Reduce Resolution or Quality Tiers
Some shaders offer quality presets (Low, Medium, High). Switch to a lower tier if available. You can also reduce your render distance slightly—this helps more than shader tweaks alone.
Monitor Frame Rate
Use F3 debug screen to check your FPS. If performance is still poor, consider disabling the entire shader temporarily to confirm it's the culprit. Aurora Veil should run smoothly on most systems, so persistent lag may indicate other mod conflicts or insufficient VRAM.
