Troubleshoot Texture Quality and Visual Issues
Common Visual Problems
Textures appear flat or lack depth: Your shader pack may not have PBR support enabled. Check shader settings for "Normal Maps" or "Parallax" options and toggle them on.
Extreme brightness or darkness: Shader ambient light settings conflict with 512x texture brightness. Adjust shader brightness slider down by 10–20% and increase contrast slightly.
Textures look blurry or low-resolution: Verify resource pack is actually loaded—check your resource pack list in settings. Confirm it appears above any conflicting packs.
Performance stuttering during texture loading: This is normal on first load. Allocate more RAM to Minecraft (4GB minimum recommended) and allow 2–3 minutes for initial texture caching.
Verification Steps
1. Place a stone block and inspect it closely—you should see visible surface relief and grain
2. Stand near water and look at reflections on stone—they should be sharp and detailed
3. Check wood planks under shader lighting—grain patterns should cast subtle shadows
If issues persist after these checks, verify your GPU drivers are current.
