How to Move Silently and Avoid Mob Detection

Minimize Sound Generation

Mobs in this mod actively listen for footsteps and movement noise. To stay undetected, move slowly and deliberately. Sprinting and jumping create loud sounds that mobs can hear from a distance, so avoid these actions when hostile mobs are nearby.

Use Environmental Cover

Place yourself in areas with natural sound dampening. Wool blocks, water, and solid walls muffle sound travel, making it harder for mobs to pinpoint your location. Moving through water is especially effective—it breaks your scent trail and masks footstep sounds.

Combine Stealth Mechanics

Remember that mobs detect you through multiple senses: sound, light level, and scent. Even silent movement can fail if you're in bright light or have left a visible scent trail. Crouch-walk during night or in dark areas, and consider jumping into water periodically to reset your scent trail.

Test Your Approach

If you're unsure whether an area is safe, place a bell or sound emitter block nearby and observe mob behavior. This helps you understand detection ranges and plan your route accordingly.
