Adjust Rain and Fog for Your Playstyle

Understanding the Changes

Atmospheric Zenith reworks rain and fog across all biomes. Rainfall is denser with softer ambient sounds, and fog rolls through oceans and forests to create atmosphere without harming performance.

Managing Visibility

In forests:

  • Dense fog creates a mysterious mood but reduces sight distance
  • Use torches and lanterns to navigate safely
  • Mobs can hide in fog, so stay alert
  • The fog is purely visual and doesn't affect mob spawning mechanics

On oceans:

  • Rolling fog makes navigation harder—use landmarks or coordinates
  • Bring a compass or map to stay oriented
  • Build lighthouses or beacon towers as navigation aids
  • Boats move normally; fog only affects visibility

Rain Behavior

  • Rainfall appears denser and more immersive across all biomes
  • Ambient sounds are softer, creating a calming effect
  • Rain still extinguishes fire and fills cauldrons normally
  • The visual changes don't impact farming, mob spawning, or other mechanics

Gameplay Impact

These changes are primarily atmospheric. If dense fog or rain affects your gameplay negatively, focus on building well-lit bases and using navigation tools like compasses and maps to compensate.
