Reduce Lag While Enjoying Bird Populations
Performance Optimization
Atmospheric Fauna is designed to run smoothly, but you can optimize further if needed. The mod uses particle-based birds, which are inherently lightweight compared to entity-based creatures.
Adjust render distance carefully. Birds spawn based on loaded chunks. If you're experiencing lag, reducing render distance slightly will decrease the number of active birds without removing the mod's visual impact.
Monitor particle settings. Check your Minecraft video settings—particle effects are tied to overall performance. Lowering particle density won't remove birds but may make them slightly less visible.
Maintaining Smooth Gameplay
The mod is optimized for client-side rendering, meaning it doesn't stress server performance. If playing single-player, bird populations should never cause significant lag.
Test different biomes. Some biomes with dense vegetation may show more birds. If a specific area feels slow, try moving to a different location. The mod's performance is generally consistent across most hardware configurations, so lag is usually caused by other factors in your world.
