Athena 9minecraft Mod: How Connected Textures Work

A Background Library for Smooth Block Surfaces

Athena is not a content mod. It adds no items, blocks, or mobs of its own, and it opens no menus or screens. Instead, it provides a connected texture system that other mods can use to make their blocks look seamless.

When blocks are placed side by side, the usual result is a repeating square tile with visible grid lines. Athena lets those adjacent blocks merge into one continuous surface, so a wall, floor, or pillar reads as a single solid shape rather than a patchwork of squares.

This works across several arrangements: walls, glass panes, pillars, and both horizontal and vertical strips. The mod only activates when another mod calls on it, so it stays lightweight and does nothing on its own.

If you installed Athena expecting new blocks or recipes, you will not find them. It is a support library: useful only alongside mods that rely on it for their textures.
