Why Your Resource Pack Screen Lags

When you open the Resource Pack Organizer screen in vanilla Minecraft, the game scans all your installed resource packs to refresh the list. With many packs installed, this scan blocks the entire game, causing freezes and stuttering.

Async Pack Scan Mod moves this scanning process to a background thread, so your game stays responsive while packs are being checked.

What You'll Notice

Once the mod is installed and active:

• Opening the Resource Pack screen no longer causes the game to freeze
• Resizing or scrolling through your pack list stays smooth
• The interface remains responsive even if you have dozens of packs installed
• Lag spikes that used to happen when organizing packs are eliminated

No Configuration Needed

This mod works automatically. Simply having it installed enables background scanning. You don't need to change any settings—just open your Resource Pack screen and enjoy the improved performance. The scanning still happens, but now it happens silently in the background instead of blocking your input.
