Combine Surround and Auto Totem for Survival

Building Surround Protection

Surround creates a defensive obsidian shell around you instantly, blocking incoming damage. Pair it with Auto Totem to stay alive longer.

1. Open mod settings and enable Surround

2. Configure which blocks to use (obsidian is standard)

3. Set the placement pattern — usually a 3×3 or 5×5 grid around your position

4. Assign a keybind to activate Surround manually, or enable auto-activation when taking damage

Pairing with Auto Totem

Enable Auto Totem so a totem appears in your hand before lethal damage kills you. This creates a two-layer defense:

• Surround stops damage from reaching you initially
• Auto Totem catches you if damage breaks through

Make sure you have totems in your inventory. Auto Totem will swap them into your hand automatically, so keep your offhand or a hotbar slot reserved. Test the timing in a safe area first — Surround takes a moment to build, so activate it before enemies close in rather than waiting until you're low health.
