Farm Armored Mobs Efficiently
Design Your Farm Layout
Armored mobs require more damage to kill, so traditional mob farms need adjustments. Fall damage remains effective, but the increased health means longer fall distances or additional damage sources.
Effective farm types:
- Fall damage farms: Increase fall height beyond vanilla requirements to ensure one-shot kills
- Suffocation farms: Compress mobs into blocks; works but takes longer due to extra health
- Hybrid farms: Combine fall damage with lava or suffocation for reliability
Optimize Kill Rates
Since armored mobs have more health, consider:
- Adding extra damage sources (lava, magma blocks) to finish weakened mobs
- Using water channels to slow mob movement, allowing better damage application
- Separating mob types if possible—Wither Skeletons and Drowned may require different farm heights
- Collecting drops from a larger area to account for longer kill times
Test your farm with a small number of mobs first to determine if your damage setup is sufficient. Adjust fall heights or add damage sources as needed.
