Enable Dark Mode for Dungeons and the End
Activating Dark Mode
Dark Mode transforms bright blocks into darker variants, creating a gloomy atmosphere perfect for dungeon exploration and the End dimension. This feature is built into the resource pack and applies automatically to specific locations.
How It Works
When you visit the End dimension or enter dungeon areas, the resource pack swaps bright blocks like sandstone, birch planks, and light stone for deepslate, dark stone, and other shadowy textures. Purple terracotta becomes visible Ender Node ore, making valuable resources stand out against the darker backdrop.
In the Magma Fields, cobblestone and gray wool are replaced with deepslate and basalt for a cooler, more cohesive look.
Ensure Catharsis Mod is Active
For Dark Mode to work properly, verify that the Catharsis mod is installed and enabled. Without it, custom block textures won't load, and you'll see vanilla blocks instead. Check your mod list in the launcher to confirm Catharsis is present.
Once both the resource pack and Catharsis mod are active, Dark Mode applies automatically—no additional configuration needed.
