Set Up Your First Farm on the Starting Island

Gather Initial Resources

Begin by breaking the few blocks available on your starting island. Collect wood from any trees present, then craft a wooden pickaxe. Use it to mine stone and create a stone pickaxe—this is your foundation for everything that follows.

Create a Basic Farm Plot

Once you have a pickaxe, flatten a small area of your island and dig down one block. Fill this depression with water using a bucket (craft one from iron if available, or find water on a nearby island). Surround the water with dirt or farmland blocks.

Plant and Expand

Plant seeds or crops around your water source. Wheat, carrots, and potatoes are reliable early crops. As your farm produces, reinvest resources into expanding—more farmland means faster food production and more seeds for trading with villagers later.

Keep your farm organized and close to your base so you can tend it easily while working on other island tasks.
