Crush Blocks with Anvils to Get Resources
How Anvil Crushing Works
When an anvil falls and lands on a block, it can trigger a crushing recipe. The anvil doesn't need to be at full durability—any anvil will work. The block below must match a recipe defined in the mod's data files for anything to happen.
Basic Crushing Steps
1. Position your anvil above the target block. You can place it on a block and push it off, or use pistons to move it into position.
2. Let it fall at least one block to trigger the crushing mechanic.
3. Check the result—the block will transform or drop items according to its crushing recipe.
Common Crushing Examples
Some blocks degrade into different variants (like stone becoming cobblestone), while others drop multiple items or transform into entirely different blocks. Pumpkins and saplings are known to have crushing recipes.
Tips
- The higher the anvil falls, the more impact it has—though the exact mechanics depend on the mod's configuration.
- You can automate this with pistons and redstone to create farms or processing systems.
- Check your mod's data files or in-game tooltips to see which blocks have crushing recipes available.
