Taming and Breeding Porcupines

Porcupines spawn naturally in forest biomes and can be tamed by feeding them apples. Once tamed, they become your companion and will no longer attack you.

To breed two tamed porcupines, feed them sweet berries. Sweet berries also serve as a healing item if your porcupine takes damage. Porcupines have natural armor, making them naturally tankier than many other animals.

When untamed porcupines are attacked, they defend themselves by poking nearby attackers with their quills, dealing damage to anything that gets close. Keep this in mind when trying to tame them—use apples from a distance or prepare for retaliation.
