Finding and Caring for Manatees
Manatees spawn in rivers and coastal areas. These slow-moving creatures are peaceful and won't bother you, though they'll swim faster if startled.
To attract manatees, use seagrass or kelp—their preferred foods. If a manatee stays submerged for an extended period (around 5-10 minutes), algae and vegetation will accumulate on its back. You can clean this buildup using a sponge or brush, which causes the manatee to shed the collected items. This is useful for gathering materials that have accumulated on the manatee while it moves through shallow water. Manatees add peaceful life to your aquatic environments without posing any threat.
