Finding and Looting Ancient Ruins

Exploring Ancient Ruins

Ancient Ruins fills the Overworld with hundreds of hand-built abandoned structures, replacing empty terrain with broken towers, sunken crypts, and hidden underground rooms. These builds are placed to match their home biome, so ruins appear naturally wherever you travel.

Only newly generated areas contain ruins. If your world already exists, you must explore beyond terrain you have already loaded to find them. Rare landmark ruins spawn far from your starting point, so long journeys are rewarded.

Larger structures contain loot chests holding useful items. Some surface builds connect directly to underground crypts and dungeon rooms, so search for openings, stairways, or collapsed floors that lead downward. Bring basic tools and light sources before entering, since crypts and underground rooms are dark and easy to get lost in. Check every chest you find, and mark interesting ruins so you can return later.
