How to power a beacon using amethyst shards as payment
With the mod installed, amethyst shards are accepted as beacon payment, so you don't need to spend iron, gold, diamond or emerald items to activate an effect.
Steps
1. Build a valid pyramid under the beacon (amethyst blocks work) and make sure nothing solid blocks the sky above it.
2. Right-click the beacon to open its menu.
3. Choose the effect you want from the available options. A bigger pyramid unlocks more of them.
4. Put one amethyst shard in the payment slot at the bottom of the menu.
5. Click the green checkmark to confirm.
The beam starts and nearby players receive the effect.
Tips
- You pay once per activation or change. The beacon keeps running afterward, so you don't need to keep feeding it.
- To switch to a different effect later, open the menu, pick the new effect, and pay with another shard.
- Shards are much easier to come by than ingots if you've found a geode, so they work well for testing different effect choices.
- If the checkmark stays grey, check that you have picked an effect and that the shard is in the payment slot.
