How to Check Whether Ambient Sounds Mod Works on Your Minecraft Version and Loader

Java Edition vs Bedrock Edition

Ambient Sounds Mod is a Java Edition mod. It relies on Java mod loaders such as Forge, NeoForge, or Fabric, depending on the build. If you play Bedrock Edition (including Windows 10/11 Bedrock, mobile, or console), this mod will not load — Bedrock uses a different add-on system and cannot run Java mods. Searches for a Bedrock version usually lead to unrelated add-ons or resource packs, not this mod.

Matching the Mod to Your Loader and Game Version

Before launching, confirm three things line up:

1. Game version — the mod build must target the exact Minecraft version you run. A mod for one minor version often fails on another.

2. Loader — Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric builds are not interchangeable. Install the build that matches the loader already in your instance.

3. Dependencies — some builds require a companion library mod; check the mod's page for required dependencies and install them alongside.

Verifying It Loaded

After launching, open the mods list from the main menu. If Ambient Sounds Mod appears there without an error marker, it loaded. Enter a forest or cave and listen — if you hear birds, wind, or cave reverberation beyond vanilla audio, the mod is active. If nothing changes, recheck version and loader compatibility, and confirm the config file was generated in your config folder.
