How to Get a Wither Skull Every Time You Kill a Wither Skeleton

What the mod changes

With Always A Wither Skull installed, every wither skeleton you kill in a Nether fortress drops exactly one wither skull. You no longer need a Looting-enchanted sword to make skulls appear, and you do not need to kill hundreds of skeletons to collect three of them. The drop is guaranteed on every kill, so a single trip into a fortress can fill your inventory with skulls if you keep killing.

Steps to farm skulls reliably

1. Find a Nether fortress and locate a corridor or crossroads where wither skeletons spawn.

2. Light the area so blazes and other mobs are easier to manage, but leave the spawnable floor dark enough for wither skeletons.

3. Kill wither skeletons with any weapon. A sword with Smite or Sharpness speeds this up, but the skull drop does not depend on the enchantment.

4. Collect the skull that appears on the ground after each kill.

5. Repeat until you have at least three skulls, which is the amount needed to summon the Wither.

Practical tips

Bring a shield or good armor because wither skeletons hit hard and apply the Wither effect. If you only need three skulls for the boss, you can stop as soon as you have them. If you want a stockpile for beacons or decoration, keep farming the same spawn area and store the skulls in a chest near your portal so you do not lose them on death.
