The anvil menu displays enchantment icons on both the items you're combining and the result preview. This makes it easy to see exactly what enchantments you're working with before committing resources.

Steps to Compare Effectively

1. Place two enchanted items in the anvil (left and right slots)

2. Scan the icons on both items to instantly see which enchantments each one has

3. Check the result preview on the right side—the icons show what the combined item will have

4. Identify duplicate enchantments by matching icons; the anvil will combine matching enchantments into a higher level

5. Decide if the merge is worth the cost by visually confirming the final enchantment set

Why This Matters

Without icons, you'd need to read every enchantment name carefully. The visual symbols let you process information faster, especially when dealing with multiple enchantments on high-tier gear. This is particularly helpful when you're deciding between keeping your current weapon or upgrading to a new one.
