How to Make Parts of Your Skin See-Through

With the mod installed, transparent pixels in your skin file stay transparent in game instead of being turned solid. The work happens in your image editor.

Prepare the skin file

1. Open your skin PNG in an editor that supports real alpha transparency, such as GIMP, Photoshop, Paint.NET or Aseprite. Many online skin editors also have an eraser that clears pixels to transparent.

2. Keep the standard skin dimensions and layout. Don't move or resize the body-part regions.

3. Pick the area you want to hide, for example part of an arm, the torso or a leg.

4. Use the eraser or Select + Delete so the pixels become transparent. Do not paint them white or black, because those are solid colors.

5. Make sure the pixels are fully transparent. Partly transparent pixels may look faint or uneven.

Export correctly

  • Save or export as PNG.
  • Keep the alpha channel when the exporter asks. Some formats and some "export for web" presets flatten transparency onto a background color.
  • Reopen the saved file to confirm the erased areas still show the checkerboard pattern.

Once the file is saved with real transparency, move on to applying it to your account and checking it in game.
