Fixing Transparent Skin Pixels That Show Up Black or Solid
If your erased areas look solid instead of see-through, work through these checks in order.
Check the skin file
1. Open the PNG again in your editor. If there is no checkerboard where you erased, the transparency was lost on export. Re-export as PNG with alpha preserved.
2. Check that you erased pixels rather than painting white or black over them.
3. Look for a background layer that sits behind your edits. A hidden solid layer will fill in the "transparent" areas on export. Delete it or flatten only the layers you want.
4. Confirm the pixels are fully transparent, not just low opacity.
Check the game side
1. Confirm the mod is actually loaded. Without it, the game strips the alpha channel and the pixels go solid, which is the vanilla behavior.
2. Re-apply the skin and restart the game to clear any cached copy of the old version.
3. Make sure the skin is applied to the account you are logged in with.
4. If you use other mods that change skin or player rendering, try removing them temporarily to see whether they conflict.
If the skin looks correct in your editor and the mod is loaded, a stale cached skin is the most common remaining cause. A full restart after re-uploading usually fixes it.
