Understanding AlfinoLib as a Dependency

What AlfinoLib Does for Your Mods

AlfinoLib is a foundation library that other mods depend on to function. It isn't a mod you interact with directly—instead, it runs behind the scenes to make dependent mods work properly.

Why You Need It Installed

If you're playing with mods that list AlfinoLib as a required dependency, you must install it alongside those mods. Without it, dependent mods will fail to load and you'll see error messages in your launcher log.

To verify AlfinoLib is loaded:

1. Launch your game with the mod installed

2. Check the main menu—if dependent mods load without crashes, AlfinoLib is working

3. Open your debug log (F3 on most setups) and search for AlfinoLib entries to confirm it initialized

Compatibility Across Versions

AlfinoLib maintains support across different Minecraft versions and mod loaders (Forge and NeoForge). If you're switching between game versions, ensure you have the correct AlfinoLib version for that build. Check your dependent mods' version requirements—they'll specify which AlfinoLib build you need.
