Enhance Water and Reflective Surface Appearance
Enable and Configure Surface Reflections
The shader includes dedicated reflection systems for water and glossy blocks. In your shader settings, locate reflection or surface quality options. Ensure water reflections are enabled—this is usually a toggle switch.
Adjust reflection sharpness or clarity if available. Higher values create mirror-like reflections; lower values produce softer, more diffused reflections. For realistic water, aim for moderate clarity that reflects the sky and nearby terrain without appearing perfectly mirrored.
Customize Reflection Behavior
Some shader settings allow you to control which block types receive reflections. Prioritize water, ice, and polished stone variants. If your system struggles, disable reflections on less visible surfaces like polished deepslate in caves.
Check if there's a reflection distance setting—this controls how far the shader traces reflections. Reducing this distance improves performance while keeping nearby reflections sharp and visible.
Test your changes near large water bodies and in areas with polished blocks to see the effect clearly.
