Adjust Shader Settings for Different Biomes and Times of Day

Customize Lighting for Specific Conditions

The shader's path-traced lighting responds to sun angle and biome colors. However, you may want to fine-tune how light behaves at sunrise, sunset, or in specific biomes.

Access time-of-day or sun intensity settings if available. These control how bright direct sunlight is at different times. Reducing midday sun intensity can prevent overexposure while keeping sunrise and sunset dramatic.

Biome-specific adjustments may include fog color, ambient tint, or reflection intensity per biome. Deserts might benefit from warmer ambient tones, while forests can use cooler, greener indirect light.

Test and Compare

Visit multiple biomes—desert, forest, ocean, and mountains—at different times of day. Note which settings feel off in each environment.

If water looks wrong in specific biomes (too bright or too dark), check if there's a water-specific ambient or reflection setting. Similarly, if snow biomes appear washed out, reduce reflection intensity or increase shadow depth.

Make small adjustments and revisit the same location at the same time to see the difference clearly.
