How to Monitor and Move Items with ME Buses and Throughput Monitor
Choosing the Right Bus
AdvancedAE provides several ME buses:
- ME Advanced IO Bus: a combined import/export bus with expanded filtering.
- ME Import Export Bus: standard bidirectional item movement.
- ME Stock Export Bus: keeps a target inventory at a configured stock level by exporting from the network.
Place the bus against the inventory you want to interact with and connect it to your ME network with a cable.
Configuring Filters
Right-click the bus to open its GUI. Set the filter slots to the items you want moved. For the Stock Export Bus, set the desired quantity per item — the bus will export until the target inventory matches that count. Use the Advanced IO Bus when you need both directions in one block to save space.
Watching Throughput
Place an ME Throughput Monitor on your network near the bus you want to observe. It displays real-time item or fluid transfer rates, which is invaluable when tuning a large automation line. If a machine is starving, the monitor will show low or zero throughput, telling you to check the bus filter or the provider feeding it.
Common Fixes
If items are not moving, confirm the bus has a channel, the filter is not empty, and the target inventory has room. For stock buses, verify the requested quantity is higher than what is already present — otherwise the bus correctly does nothing.
