Accelerated Decay Mod: How Leaf Removal Works
Instant Leaf Removal When a Tree Falls
Accelerated Decay Mod changes how leaves behave when you chop down a tree. In vanilla Minecraft, leaves decay gradually after their supporting logs are removed, ticking away block by block. This mod skips that process entirely.
As soon as the last wooden block of a tree is broken, every connected leaf disappears at once. There is no waiting period and no gradual decay animation to sit through. The moment the final log is gone, the canopy is gone too.
This makes the mod a faster alternative to
Fast Leaf Decay. Instead of leaves lingering and ticking, they are removed in a single instant.
Because the gradual decay process is eliminated, the mod also reduces load on both the client and the server. Fewer leaf blocks ticking means less work being done in the background, which can help performance in areas with many trees.
The mechanic is automatic: break the last supporting log, and the leaves are cleared immediately.
