Navigating Water and Lava Safely
Identifying Liquid Blocks
Water and lava retain their animations in 1×1 Ultimate Resource Pack, but their solid color appearance can be deceptive. Water appears blue and lava appears orange-red, but the flowing animation is your best clue.
Water Navigation
When exploring near water:
1. Watch for the blue color and subtle flowing animation
2. Remember that water flows downward and spreads horizontally
3. Use water to your advantage for safe travel—jumping into water breaks fall damage
4. Be cautious near edges; water can hide depth changes
5. Mark water sources with solid-colored blocks if you're building near them
Lava Avoidance
Lava is dangerous and looks similar to some blocks:
1. Lava appears as orange-red with flowing animation
2. Never assume an orange-red block is safe—check context first
3. Keep water buckets ready when exploring caves
4. Use the flowing animation to distinguish lava from solid blocks
5. In the Nether, assume most orange-red animated blocks are lava
General Fluid Safety
Always approach unfamiliar animated blocks cautiously. The animation is your primary identifier for liquids in this pack.
