Frequently asked questions

How do I turn on Koptiretro Shaders?
Koptiretro is a shader pack, so it runs through a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine. Open Video Settings, go to the Shader Packs menu, select Koptiretro Shaders from the list and apply it. The pixelated, dithered look should appear across the whole screen right away.
Koptiretro doesn't show up in my shader list, what did I do wrong?
The pack has to sit in the shaderpacks folder of the game instance you are actually launching. It also only appears once a shader loader is installed. If the folder is right and it still doesn't show, reopen the Shader Packs menu or restart the game so the list refreshes.
How do I switch between 8-bit, 12-bit and 15-bit color?
With Koptiretro selected in the Shader Packs menu, open its shader options and look for the color depth setting. Choose 8-bit, 12-bit or 15-bit, then apply the change.
What's the difference between the 8-bit, 12-bit and 15-bit modes?
The number controls how many colors the screen can show. 8-bit gives the most limited, chunky palette with the strongest retro feel. 15-bit keeps the most color detail, and 12-bit sits in between.
