Turn On Koptiretro Shaders and Get the Retro Pixel Look
Koptiretro Shaders is a shader pack, so it runs through a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine. It is not a resource pack, so it will not appear in the Resource Packs menu.
Loading the pack
1. Launch Minecraft with your shader loader active.
2. Go to Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs. The exact button name depends on your loader.
3. If Koptiretro Shaders is not in the list, use the button that opens the shader packs folder. Place the pack file there, then return to the menu. It should now appear in the list.
4. Select Koptiretro Shaders and click Apply or Done.
What you should see
Once the pack loads, it changes the whole screen:
- Pixelation covers the full screen, so blocks and items take on a chunky, classic pixel look.
- Dithering patterns appear across the screen, imitating the way older gaming hardware blended colors.
- Skies and entities get the same stylized pixel-art treatment as the terrain.
The base gameplay should stay clean and easy to read. You can still see mobs, blocks and your surroundings clearly. Only the visual style has changed.
If the world looks exactly as it did before, check that you clicked Apply and that your loader is installed and active. To go back to normal visuals at any time, return to the Shader Packs menu and select the off or none option.
