Every mob below is a real animation, not a still. They are built from Minecraft’s own model geometry and texture files, rendered frame by frame here, and saved as transparent WebP that loops forever. 65 mobs so far.

Mojang publishes the shape of every mob as model files — a tree of bones, each holding boxes with a position, a size and a patch of the texture sheet. We read those files, rebuild the mob in three dimensions, and render it one frame at a time from a fixed camera.
The movement is ours. Mojang’s animation files describe only the wiring — they say a creeper’s leg turns by an amount the game works out each tick, and that amount is not written down anywhere. So the walk cycles, the wing beats and the swell before a creeper goes off were written here, following the same simple curves the game uses.
Using them
Each file is a looping WebP with a transparent background, around 40 KB, sized for use at icon scale. Right-click to save, or use the download link under any mob.
The geometry and textures are Mojang’s. 9Minecraft is a fan site and is not approved by or associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft; Minecraft is their trademark.
