Frequently asked questions

How do I turn on VineC's Cartoony Shaders?
Open Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs, click VineC's Cartoony Shaders in the list, then click Done or Apply. When the outlines appear around blocks and mobs, the pack is active.
How do I switch back to the normal vanilla look?
Return to the Shader Packs menu and select OFF (or the internal or default option, depending on your shader loader), then confirm. Your world goes back to vanilla lighting with no outlines. You can switch the pack on again the same way at any time.
Why doesn't VineC's Cartoony Shaders show up in my shader pack list?
Shader packs only work through a shader loader such as Iris or OptiFine, so check that one is installed and running first. Then make sure the pack's zip file sits directly in the shaderpacks folder and isn't buried inside an extra folder. Click the button that opens the shaderpacks folder from the Shader Packs menu so you know you're using the right one.
The shader is selected but I don't see any cartoon outlines. What's wrong?
First confirm the pack is actually highlighted as active in the Shader Packs menu and isn't set to OFF. Then try reloading the pack or restarting the game. If the outlines still don't appear, temporarily disable other mods that change rendering, since they can interfere with shader effects.
