Frequently asked questions

How do I turn on DREDGIVIBE Shaders?
Open Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs, select DREDGIVIBE in the list, then click Apply or Done. The menu is added by your shader loader, such as Iris or OptiFine. Once it loads, step outside in daylight to see the new lighting.
How can I tell if DREDGIVIBE is actually working?
Stand near trees or buildings in sunlight and look for shadows cast across nearby blocks and terrain. The overall color tone should also look more mystic and fantasy-like, and nights should feel noticeably darker and moodier than vanilla.
Why are nights so dark with DREDGIVIBE?
That's intentional. The pack changes nighttime brightness and dark spots to give a spooky, cursed look. Carry plenty of torches, light up your base and paths, and try raising the in-game Brightness slider if it's too hard to see.
Do mobs spawn more because the shader makes everything darker?
No. The shader only changes how light looks on your screen, not the game's actual light levels. Mob spawning works exactly as in vanilla, so check real block light with the F3 debug screen rather than trusting how dark an area appears.
