Take Atmospheric Screenshots of DREDGIVIBE's Shadows and Mystic Lighting
DREDGIVIBE is all about mood. It adds semi-realistic shadows, a fantasy-tinted light, and eerie darkness. A little setup gets you screenshots that show it off.
Set up the scene
1. Find depth. Pick a spot with height and texture, such as a forest edge, a cliff, ruins or a detailed build. Shadows look best when blocks overlap.
2. Choose the time of day.
- Low sun (sunrise or sunset) stretches shadows across terrain and shows off the pack's colour tones.
- Midday gives crisp, shorter shadows.
- Night highlights the cursed, mysterious darkness. Place a few torches or lanterns so there is something lit against the gloom.
3. Control the time. If cheats are on, use /time set to get the exact moment. Use /gamerule doDaylightCycle false to freeze it while you frame the shot.
4. Raise render distance temporarily. Distant terrain makes landscape shots feel bigger. Lower it again afterwards if your PC struggles.
Capture it
1. Press F1 to hide the HUD and your hand.
2. Lower FOV in Options for a less distorted, more cinematic look, or raise it for wide vistas.
3. Press F2 to save a screenshot. It goes into the screenshots folder inside your game directory.
4. Take a few versions a minute apart, because shadow angles shift as the sun moves.
